I developed this idea after ending my college courses with what I like to call a “Burning Questions” session. Students submit their “burning questions” (on anything – the course, business, society, life, random curiosities) in advance. I collect them and cultivate my “answers” (often my perspective on a topic more than an absolutes), and we would discuss them together as an engaging wrap up to the academic term.
Over the years, students told me how they liked that their (often) “short questions” were met with “long answers”, which frequently included detailed stories from my professional and personal life. And rather than students being “told what was right or wrong”, these sessions would offer students another perspective to consider on a topic, along with their own.
And so, Long Answers to Short QuestionsTM was born! I often abbreviate it to LA2SQ to keep it simple.
My goal is that anyone who engages with Long Answers to Short QuestionsTM will find “answers” to some of their questions, and along the way, they will laugh a little, learn a little, and feel a little (hopefully, better).
